They partnered with our team to implement <a href=\"https:\/\/seramount.com\/solutions\/assess360\">Assess360<\/a> as a complement to their annual engagement survey\u2014gaining richer, actionable insights into colleagues\u2019 needs and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/muhsinah-nuriddin-88176945\/\">Muhsinah Nuriddin<\/a>, Director of DE&amp;I, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/doug-jackson-03884720\/?originalSubdomain=ca\">Doug Jackson<\/a>, Global Head of HR, <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.seramount.com\/From-Insights-to-Impact-How-Manulife-Aligned-Stakeholders-to-Improve-Employee-Engagement.html\">recently shared<\/a> how they secured stakeholder support for their multinational, multiyear initiative to better understand colleagues\u2019 day-to-day experiences and create a culture where people feel safe bringing their authentic selves to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-uncovering-a-plan-of-action-from-colleagues-daily-experiences\"><strong>Uncovering a Plan of Action from Colleagues\u2019 Daily Experiences<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/seramount.com\/articles\/8-reasons-why-employee-engagement-survey-data-alone-isnt-enough-to-drive-dei-change\/\">Traditional surveys often capture a single snapshot in time<\/a>, but most of them don\u2019t capture the nuances of everyday experiences. While historical data and trends can provide important insights to guide an organization\u2019s response to colleague feedback, a closer look at day-to-day experiences would help them develop informed strategies tailored to the specific needs highlighted by colleagues\u2019 feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manulife John Hancock needed more comprehensive data provided by Seramount\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/seramount.com\/solutions\/assess360\/#evs\">Employee Voice Sessions<\/a> (EVSs), where colleagues can share honest opinions about work culture, career growth, and leadership. Using this listening technology enabled the Wealth and Asset Management team to understand not only <strong>what<\/strong> colleagues felt but also <strong><em>why<\/em><\/strong>\u2014painting a more detailed picture of colleague needs and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote is-style-coral_large_quote\"><blockquote><p>We didn\u2019t feel like we had an adequate mechanism to understand if colleagues felt safe to say what was on their mind, to speak up or speak out against behaviors, or offer ideas at work. We felt like this was a nice complement to our engagement survey that allowed us to go a lot deeper.<\/p><cite><em>Doug Jackson, Global Head of Human Resources, Wealth and Asset Management (WAM)<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-securing-stakeholder-support-to-supplement-standard-surveys\"><strong>Securing Stakeholder Support to Supplement Standard Surveys<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Rolling out a large-scale engagement initiative in a global segment with more than 9,000 colleagues comes with hurdles. To secure buy-in for this new colleague feedback mechanism, it was important to align the value of this initiative to the work of their collaborators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Securing executive buy-in was a critical first step\u2014it set the tone for other stakeholders to see how important this work is for organization-wide success. Muhsinah and Doug also collaborated with essential departments such as communications, DEI, HR partners, talent management, and legal. For example, involving the legal and risk teams early in the process ensured that colleague data was protected while gathering the honest, anonymous insights they needed. Balancing the various laws, cultural norms, and time zones for each of their geographic regions required flexibility and proactive alliances to ensure colleagues felt seen and heard, no matter where
